Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease of unknown cause. It affects joints such as hands and feet but may also involve the eyes or skin. Middle aged women are most commonly affected. To forestall joint destruction early aggressive therapy is often employed. Anti-inflammatories, immunosuppressive drugs and biologic agents regimens have been used. Stem cells are being researched for auto-immune conditions. A report in the Journal of Translational Research sheds light on this area, “The ability of MSC to inhibit immune response, while offering the possibility of inducing/accelerating healing of tissue that has already been damaged, makes this population attractive for treatment of autoimmune disorders.” (read more)
Rheumatoid Arthritis and OC Regenerative Medicine
As part of the CELL SURGICAL NETWORK we offer a specific SVF deployment protocol that attempts to mitigate the effects of Rheumatoid Arthritis. SVF (rich in mesenchymal stem cells and growth factors) has immuno-regulatory and anti-inflammatory properties which may be beneficial. SVF is deployed systemically as an outpatient at the time of SVF harvesting and procurement. The entire cellular surgical procedure takes approximately three hours.
